November is Diabetes Awareness Month and World Diabetes Day is November 14 (insulin co-discoverer Dr. Banting’s birthday). Team WILD is participating in efforts to raise awareness in all sorts of ways. We have already told you about the WDD Postcard Exchange and The Big Blue Test.
This week, we are featuring Blue Fridays, an initiative from Cherise of Diabetes Social Media Advocacy (#dsma Twitter chat Wednesdays at 9pm Eastern among other amazing support actions):
Sara shares why she wears blue:
I’ve stacked all my blue shirts together in my dresser and placed an order for a blue wig. I got a blue collar for Becca, my diabetes alert dog. Tomorrow, I’ll send an email to my co-workers to let them know what I’m up to and ask them to join me. Will you?

Heather-
Thank you for mentioning and supporting Blue Fridays! Together we can make a difference and spread awareness for the entire diabetes community! Teamwork.
Please take a picture of Becca and post it on the Blue Fridays page.
Mari- did you say blue wig? I’ve got to see it!
I have found my blue wig too! And I’m finding all my blue shirts and I love the idea of a blue dog collar! Thanks Heather for getting WILD focused on BLUE for Diabetes! It’s no coincidence that the WILD logo has a blue circle around the WILD!!
