This week TeamWILD: We Inspire Life with Diabetes wants you to meet Sarah Worah, our Sponsorships Intern. Sarah was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1995, at age 11 and lives in Denver, Co.
Anyone who regularly engages in a physical activity, whether that be walking, running, boxing, swimming, golf, etc.
What inspires you?
People who have overcome obstacles and still achieve what others thought impossible. People who defeat the odds.
How do you move past obstacles to your fitness goals?
Support. I look for others with similar struggles and ask them how they overcame them. Realizing that you are not alone is the first step in moving forward beyond your barriers.
How do you reward yourself?
Pinkberry with Fruity Pebbles on top!
What is something about you that might surprise us?
I have a gastric pacemaker in my stomach due to gastroparesis. It is what has allowed me to compete with TeamWILD and train for endurance events without getting sick.
How do you GO WILD in your life?
I don’t hide my diabetes. I want everyone to know that you can live a normal life while managing diabetes and do everything if not more than someone without diabetes!
Thank you, Sarah!!!

Sarah, remember me? Glad to hear that you are doing so well with life and with your diabetes! If you have the chance, please email me, and share with me how you are doing, etc.
