Meet TeamWILD Cycle Coach: Amy McGuire

Amy joins long-time TeamWILD cycle coach Nicole Freedman to get us ready for our big rides. With the just-announced official partnership between TeamWILD and the ADA’s Tour de Cure bringing more cyclists to our training programs and camps, we are super excited to add Amy to our coaching staff and get to know her through our TeamWILD questions!

How do you define “Athlete”?

An athlete is anyone who participates regularly in a sport. “Athlete”
refers specifically to an individual with strong all-around athletic
ability that indicates the potential to succeed at multiple positions.

What inspires you?

Hard work and the promise of reaching my goals inspires me.

How do you move past obstacles to your fitness goals?

I take a step back, take a deep breath and make a plan for getting
around the obstacle.

How do you reward yourself?

I reward myself with a nice dinner and a relaxing evening with my feet
up. Maybe a nice glass of white wine.

What is something about you that might surprise us?

I was born in England, grew up in Brazil and Mexico and have both
British and US citizenship.

How do you GO WILD in your life?

I try to laugh as much as possible!

Laughter! That’s my kind of coach. Thanks for taking a little time out of your spring training for us, Amy!
